What Is The Cause For A Reddish Hue To My Bowel Leakage?

I have a year old colostomy. I have a nice budded stoma with polyps on outsid. I have not had a movement of feces for a couple of days and I have had leakage of feces. My concern is that my stoma is beefy red and when I change my bag it bleeds very easily. Right now I have a reddish hue to my bowel leakage???

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to HCM.

having polyps at stoma is not normal... also as it is bleeding to and causing constipation, it can be a malignant growth.

So better show to your surgeon for a physical and radiological examination of the same.
