What Is Prognosis For Necrotic Chronic Pancreatitis With 40% Scarring?

I have been diagnosed with necrotic chronic pancreatitis but I have never drunk alchohol. I have now lost 4 stone in weight over the year and have chronic pain. What would help these symptoms? They are saying my pancreas is 40% scarred so what prognosis do you think I have?

A serious concern especially if the cause is not known.
Gallstones can irritate, but do not often cause any scarring. Elevated triglycerides are problaby the most common cause after alcohol or illegal drugs and are both highly treatable/controllable, and likley to have significant healing with treatment. Prescription drugs like common blood pressure medications (HCTZ) sometimes cause pancreatitis. So can minor viruses. But they shouldn't be present long enough to cause scarring.
