What Is Life Expectancy After Open Heart Double Bypass And Mitral Valve Repair?

Hello Dr's, I just went through open heart double bypass and a repair of my mitrol valve with an Annuloplasty Ring this past December 2nd 2010. I've just turned 50 this past February 2011. The surgeon informed me that I still have an A-Fib condition that he could not correct during surgery. How long or short can I expect to live after these procedures?

Hi there
First of all I want you to stay positive as positivity harbours good health.
Now let me tell you that 10 year survival rate after a CABG Is approximately 90%. so cheer up and follow all the advise given by your treating doc nd be very regular with your meds you are not going anywhere for another 10 years. Regarding your AF you need to be on anticoagulants n maintain your INR levels between 2-3.
Good luck ☺
