Hi I m pregnant 7 weeks and had a bad cold about 3 weeks ago... A week after that I noticed small spots of blood in my phlegm... I smoked about 8 years and have quit 3 weeks ago. The blood in my phlegm went on for 12 days and my obgyn told me it was from my nose but there was never blood in it! So I decided to go tithe ER because a bigger spot of blood came up with no phlegm. I have no fever and all my blood work from being pregnant came back perfectly normal... I received a chest X-ray and that was normal too. They told me I had bronchitis and have me antibiotics... Zithromax. I finished them 2 days ago but they said it might not work fully until day 10. I m worried it s something worse like cancer! I m 24yrs old and I don t know if chest X-rays always show cancer!
If at all it were to be cancer, the cancer would have to have grown to a size through which it could be visualized, if it is causing symptoms. Asymptomatic cancer regions are usually too small to be visualized. Thus, the x-ray film should have show us the cancer if at all it was present.
Although not a hard and fast rule, why don't you go about the treatment with zithromax and wait till day 10 and then report to me using our premium service.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
