Hi,

PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome) is a condition in which woman produce higher the normal amount of male hormones, which would cause hormonal imbalance resulting in irregular menstruation and difficulty in conceiving.

Ovulation is primarily affected due to the development of insulin resistance. It is a treatable condition in which medications to regularise menstrual cycle and countering insulin resistance will help to bring fertility back to normal.

However, it is not possible to treat completely by herbal supplements alone.

The following supportive measures can be taken to improve the chances of conceiving along with medications.

1. Consume whole foods are free from artificial sugars, hormones, and preservatives.
2. Avoiding high carbohydrate foods and balancing between carbohydrate and protein intake.
3. Add anti-inflammatory foods like olive oil, tomatoes and green leafy vegetables.
4. Consume iron-rich foods such as spinach, eggs, and broccoli.
5. Improve magnesium intake by taking almonds, cashews, spinach and bananas.
6. Add dietary fibre and cut down coffee (caffeine) intake.
7. Take medicated supplements containing inositol, chromium, cinnamon, turmeric and zinc.
8. Reduce weight and exercise regularly.

Do a regular follow-up with your doctor and follow the instructions properly. Gradually, you should be able to overcome the problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
