Hello I can understand your concerns. Your description suggests that he is suffering from alcohol dependence. Alcoholism also run in his family. The health risks associated with alcoholism are tremendous like liver failure, bleeding in stool and through mouth, gastric ulcers, neuropathies etc. In my opinion, he needs a residential de-addiction treatment under the supervision of a psychiatrist/addiction medicine specialist.
