What Happens If Vaccination Is Not Taken In Case Of A Dog Bite?

Hello,
Yesterday a dog bite me in the leg. He has been vaccinated every year, so he couldn't have rabies only if he bite some other animal which had them and maybe he had some spit of them. The problem is that i dont want to get vaccinated because of the harm of vaccine. The dog bite through jeans and there was no rupture in the pants. I live in Latvia and there are still found animals with rabies sometimes. I would like to know what would you do in my situation.
Thank you very much in advance,
Peter

Hi,

Welcome to HCM.

If the dog has been on schedule with his vaccination then the risk of rabies is almost nil.
Please wash the wound thoroughly with soap and water and get a tetanus shot for now.
There is no need for rabies vaccination but I would suggest you observe the dog for 10 days for some change in behavior.
Thanks.
