i was spot bleeding yesterday i knew i was pregnant i went for a scan today it came back unclear on my early pregnancy assesment sheet it has there is an intrauterine gestation sac, gesstation by msd 5.8 weeks. yolk sac present. there is small collection of echoes around 2mm size next to the sac which may be fetal pole but no definite fhm seen. no evidence of bleeding around the sac. no abnormal adnexal mass was seen. there is a little free fluid in the pod. can you explain this a little more clearly please.
Hi, I have gone through your question. Gestational sac with fetal pole in th uterus is indicative of intrauterine pregnancy. The fetal heart beat appears in ultrasound by 6 weeks of gestation. No abnormal adenexal mass means that there is no evidence of ectopic pregnancy or any other mass in tubes and ovaries. No evidence of bleeding around the sac is indicative of the fact that there no blood collection or subchorionic haemorrhage around the sac. Pouch of Douglas is a space behind the uterus which may contain small amount of fluid. I would suggest you to get a repeat ultrasound after2 weeks to assess the fetal heart beat. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health.
