Hi, I am 12 yrs. I have a MCV count of 74.9 fl. , MCH count of 22.7 pg. and Leucocyte count 11870 / cmm. MCHC 30.3%, Hemoglobin 12.1 g/dl, Erythrocyte count is 5.34 million/ cmm. RBC is predominently hypochromic microcytic and a few elliptocytes present in blood. Can you please let me know the reason for this and how do we increase this count? Regards

Hi..Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

Your MCV count of 74.9 fl , MCH count of 22.7 pg. and MCHC of 30.3% is low & Rbc count is on higher side of normal range. Also your blood picture is of hypochromic microcytic RBC. All togethar this type of anemia is commonly due to iron deficency in body.
You should take green leafy vegetables, whole grain in abundance in diet & avoid tea, coffee with diet. you would be okkay. If not iron supplements would be given to you.
Your Leucocyte count 11870 / cmm which is on higher side & is significant if you have fever or other symptoms of infection.

Refer to your physician for consultation
Take care.
