Hello
Thanks for writing to us
According to MRI report you have degenerative
disc disease of
lumbar spine.
Degenerative changes occurs in spine due to aging and development of weakness in annulus fibrosis which allows herniation of disc.
There is straightening of lumbar spine which may be due to muscle spasm.
There is annular tear at L1-L2 and L4-L5 levels.
There is partial dehydration of disc at L5-S1 level.
1.At L4-5 level there is broad based disc bulge causing thecal sac compression and bilateral foramen narrowing without significant
nerve root compression.
2.At L5-S1 level there is central disc herniation causing anterior thecal sac compression without significant nerve root compression.
Paravertebral and paravertebral soft tissue appears normal
Treatment for degenerative
lumbar disease includes
physiotherapy or surgery.
Effectiveness of both modalities are same. So,physiotherpay should be tried first. It causes strengthening of Para spinal muscles and it prevents further changes.
Surgery should be the last option.
There are also medicines like capsule pregabalin available for pain relief.
Treatment can be planned after consultation with neurosurgeon.
Get well soon.
Take Care
