What Does "minimal Fibroid PTB Infiltrates" On Chest X-ray Mean?

Dear Doctors, I'm Lloyd, i had my medication of TB year back 2007, however since 3 weeks now i'm experiencing chest pain and post nasal drip w and all things are normal like my appetite, i don't have cough and have no fever; to deal my agony, yesterday i went to the nearest laboratory to have a chest X-ray and the result was "minimal fibroid PTB infiltrates are noted in the Right Upper Lobe of undermined activity. heart is not enlarged. diaphragm and sulci are unremarkable." thereafter i immediately went to our medical center and the doctor bade me to have sputum culture and sensitivity. doc, please interpret what does the x-ray result mean. and presumptively how long will be the medication?

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, you are mostly having simple viral infection. No need to worry for this x ray report.
This x ray picture is suggestive of old healed TB lesion.
You had tuberculosis in past. Almost all tb lesions after treatment heal by fibrosis or calcification. These healed lesions will remain as it is through out the life. So I think your present x ray showing healed fibrosis lesion of previous tb infection.
You are also not having fever and loss of appetite. So possibility of active tb is very less in your case.
Simple viral infection is more likely in your case. And hence simple antihistamine and anti inflammatory drugs are required for 1-2 weeks
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
