What Does Progesterone Level Of 53.2 Suggest During Pregnancy?

Hi, I am 6 week pregnant and have had a progesterone test. The results came back as 53.2 nmol/L. I have miscarried before, but in my last pregnancy I took Endogest 200 mg and had a successful pregnacy. I am not sure if my progesterone levels are too low. Please advise if i should take Endogest 200 mg to help or are my levels okay?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. I am not sure what the reference range for your progesterone test is. Different tests use different parameters, in the US for example it is largely reported in nanograms/ml, not in moles. In ng/ml, a progesterone level of 20 to 30 is considered normal and at low risk for miscarriage.

If you have a pregnancy after infertility treatment, you may also need progesterone support regardless of the level. I suggest you to consult with your OB or fertility doctor after confirming the pregnancy is viable (alive) because low progesterone, if it is low, can be caused by a pregnancy not developing properly, rather than the other way around.
