What Does Nerve Root Sleeve Cyst At C 7-T 1 And A 1 Cm Cyst At T 1-T 2 Indicate?
I'm 52, had an MRI in 2008 and just repeated MRI w/ a 6mm cystic focus in R neural foramen consistent with a nerve root sleeve cyst at C7-T1 and a 1cm cyst at T1-T2. It has been causing me a lot of pain in shoulder and R arm. I did 2 rounds of steroids, muscle relaxers and Vicodin. Is there something else I can do to get relief? Thank you.
Synovial cysts of the cervical spine occur infrequently in the spinal canal and are most often associated with degenerative facet joints. Initially treatment options are conservative and that is the reason you were given steroids and pain relievers. At times there might be sudden development of symptoms and the patient presents with nerve root paralysis. At that time surgical treatment is provided and this is curative permanently. Once treated, it will not occur again.
