What Does My Liver Function Test Result Indicate?

I have just received my mother s test. HBsAg Non Reactive. Anti HCV value 8.99 L.F.T tests also indicates that Gamma (G.T) is high 162 S.G.O.T(A.S.T) is high 92 GLOBULINS is high 4.3 ALBUMIN is low than normal range 3.2 A/G RATION is low than normal range 0.7 What is your analysis on this.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Based on the liver function test report you have posted, the following things can be inferred.
1. Enzymes namely Gamma GT, and AST is higher than normal, which indicates there is hepatocellular damage.
2. High globulins and low albumin with decreased A/G ratio indicates synthetic dysfunction of liver.
Such picture is generally seen in infective hepatitis. This could be caused due to Hepatitis C virus as serological investigation for Hepatitis B is non reactive.
Kindly consult Physician with the report for appropriate evaluation and management.
