What Does My Blood Test Result Post Knee Replacement Surgery Indicate?

I recently had surgery involving a knee replacement and femur resection. I had a CBC and other blood test and most of the tests were within the normal range The following were either high or low: Hemoglobin 10.9 g/dL Hemotocrit 31.4% RBC3.41 M/uL Platelet Count 472 k/uL Immature Granulocyte, % Auto 0.4% Monocytes, % Auto 14.3% Immature Granulocyte, ABS Auto 0.04K/uL Monocytes, ABS Auto 1.46 K/uL Mean Platelet Volume 9.1 fL Should these results be a reason for concern?

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

According to your blood report you have Haemoglobin 10.9, Rbc count of 3.41 million & haemocrit values of 31.4 % are low. These shows you have slight anemia or less haemoglobin in blood. Which can be due to blood loss, iron deficiency etc. Treatment of anemia depends upon the cause. If you had recent blood loss, this will get improve on its own. If you have iron deficency, iron suppliments or diet high in iron would be given.

Your platelet count is higher than normal, which is significant if you having clots in blood vessels like Deep vein thrombosis, stroke, angina like problems. If these symptoms or problems are absent you need not to worry.
Others tests including mean platelet size, immature granulocyes etc are normal & are not of much significance.

Refer to your physician

Hoping your query is solved
Good luck
