hello doctor i just got my blood report in that S.Typhi O Positive, 1:80 S.Typhi H Positive, 1:80 S. Paratyphi AH nagative S. Paratyphi BH nagative and my diferential leucocyte count neutrophils 89 lymphocytrs 8 may i know what prob i have is it serious
Hello and welcome to HCM, The test done on your blood is called Widal test. Widal test is done for typhoid fever. The interpretation of Widal test is as follows: The antibody titre for O and H antigen is 1:80. The test is considered to be negative if the titres are 1:80 or below. The other antibodies are negative. Thus, the test results are negative for typhoid fever.
The differential counts on blood show raised neutrophil count (The normal count is below 75%). However, total leucocyte count is needed for exact interpretation. Raised neutrophil counts are seen in bacterial infections. Consult your doctor with reports for clinical assessment and management.
