What Does It Mean When You Experience A Series Of Short Sharp Pains In Left Side Of Chest ?
What does it mean when you experience a series of very short sharpish pains in the left side of the chest. It wasnt the continuous pain I was told to expect with a heart attack but more like an uneven pulsing. I am male, 53 years of age and in average health. This lasted only about 30 seconds in total. Should I be worried?

pain in the chest can be due to many reasons..
1.musculoskeletal
2.lung causes
3.cardiac causes
4.neuralgias
..of these cardiac problems can be serious and need emergency intervention..
usually cardiac pain is like gripping,on left side ,radiating to arm,face,back usually last for few minutes (angina)associated with exertion,sweating,anxiety,fear,shortness of breath ,diabetics,hypertensives,or any apparently healthy individual..
early the diagnosis ,better the treatment and outcome...
even you do not have any other symptoms and unlikely cardiac problem based on your age and male gender
i suggest you have an appointment with a dr/cardiologist,get ecg,chest x ray,2d echo,tmt,angiogram gen,health check up to rule out any problem
and stay healthy,with peace of mind,...bye take care
