What Does It Mean To Have VDRL Reactive On Reports?

my vdrl is reactive 1:2 2yrs ago.then 1:4 a year ago.been tested for TPHA TPPA and were negative.also done work ups for SLE, HIV, Hep B all yields negative result also.doctors said i have no disease and i carry the antibody.is it really possible?are there any cure?can i transmit it to my partner or child?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
VDRL is a test done for syphilis.
VDRL is the initial test for syphilis, however, it can be positive in number of other conditions besides syphilis.
TPHA is a specific test for syphilis.
A negative TPHA and reactive VDRL rules out syphilis.
Syphilis is a sexually transmitted disease which can transmit from mother to child.
The syphilis presents with painless ulcers on genitalia, affects the mucus membranes and can affect the cardiovascular system and nervous system in terminal stages.
You are not suffering from syphilis as per your laboratory results.
A negative TPHA rules out syphilis for all practical purposes.
However, antibody against syphilis may be present which is responsible for reactive VDRL.
