What Does Hormone Test As Follicular Phase 3.85-8 Suggest?

Hi doctor, My husband and i have been trying out for a baby for 2 years all in vain so i decided to take a hormone test and would like to know what these results mean, (FSH)....... 10.29 IU/L mid follicular phase....... 3.85-8. 78 IU/LMid-cycle............. 4.54-22. 51 mid- luteal phase.......... 1.79-5.12Post- menopausal...............16.74-113.59 IU/L Thank you, Vicky.

Hello.
After reading your query, i understand that it gives the level of FSH(follicular stimulating hormone).
The secretion of this hormone varies during the menstrual cycle, hence the reference ranges are mentioned at different times of the cycle.
Your level is 10.29, and it should be correlated with the timing of the day in your menstrual cycle eg if done on day 3 it is slightly higher - out of normal range.
High FSH signals that ovaries are nit being stimulated for follicular growth.
However I would suggest you consult your Gynecologist for a comprehensive workup.
