What Does Feeling Of Fluid In Ear With Pain And Pressure Indicate?
I feel like there is always fluid in my right ear (even though I always lay on that ear so that it drains). If I lay on my other ear, my right ear feels it fills back up with fluid and there is a slight amount of pain and pressure in that ear until I turn back over. It is really getting frustrating.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that the feeling of fluid inside the ear along with slight pressure and pain can be due to fluid accumulation behind the ear drum or clogging of eustachian tube leading to Eustachian Tube Dysfunction..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like otoscopy, x-ray or MRI scan can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.. In case if there is fluid inside the ears oral decongestants like Pseudoephadrine and nasal spray containing Xylometazoline and Oxymetazoline can help..
In case of infection associated antibiotics oral as well as ear drops can be advised.. In case if it does not resolve with the medication then surgical drainage of ears by making a small incision through the eardrum can help..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
