My boyfriend just had a cat scan done because they saw something on his lung. Of course we are nervous until we get the report, but in the meantime he told me he had a collapsed lung on the same lung they saw the fatty deposit. Do you think there is a possibility that it is something from his past collapsed lung issue.
Collapsed lung can be due to many causes. It can be a sequel to old pulmonary TB or untreated pleural effusion. Or may be due to healed old pneumonia. Any Endobronchial obstruction like mucous plug, polyp, benign tumor etc can also cause lung collapse. In my opinion most common is past TB.
