What Does Cardio Pulmonary Arrest Mean?

my brother has asthma.he has this problem since child.at the age of 40 still suffered asthma.then suddenly he fell down from sitting in the chair and unconscious.rush to the hospital then dead on arrival.hospital diagnose cause of death is cardio pulmonary arrest.is that heart attack.

I am so sorry to hear about that.
In fact Cardio-pulmonary arrest is often mentioned as a cause of death but it is not so. It is mode of death. The guideline forbid using CP arrest as a cause of death. It only tells that the heart stopped pumping and there was no breathing movement.
It does not tell us if it was a heart attack or not.

Yes - he probably had a severe asthma attack that subsequently caused his heart to stop after he was unable to breathe for some time.
