What Does A Painful Lump On The Rib Cage Indicate?
I have what I believe to by a large lypoma on the left side of my rib cage and it hurts which surprises me. I had one removed from my side by a plastic surgeon years ago because it was awkward but didn t actually hurt. This one hurts to the touch. I have several on the top of my feet as well but other than pressure, they don t hurt. My endocrinologist took a quick look and said those are harmless and pretty much blew me off but the one on my rib cage is rather large and noticeable. Thank you.
We will try to help you in the best way possible. First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, you need to have lymph node biopsy done as it can be benign growth like lipomas but the possibility of lymphoma or lymphadenopathy needs to be ruled out.
Baseline blood workup including complete blood count and LDH should also be done.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
