What Does SGPT Level On Liver Function Report Reveal?
Hi Doctor, I'm 29 years old and my SGPT level in the Liver Function test report is 1380 which is way to high than the normal ? My Bilirubin level is 5.2 however i'm too much concerned with the SGPT level. Please help in understanding the cause and severity of it.
Noted you have jaundice with high sgpt.... Do you have alcohol habit??? If yes then over drinking of alcohol can lead hepatitis....and so these values... Avoid alcohol if having habit....
Second if you are obese and no alcohol habit then non alcoholic steatohepatitis might be the cause . USG done for it....
Thirdly for rule out viral hepatitis viral marker study like HBSag detection done by ELISA....
As you have jaundice you definetly having one of the above liver cause....
If no cause identifiable and if sore throat with lymphedenopathy present then CBC done with serological study to rule out infectious mononucleosis....
Consult gastroentetologist for detail examination.....
Take care.
