What Doe White Teardrop-shaped Lesions On The Middle Of Tongue Indicate?

Two teardrop-shaped lesions have appeared on the middle of my tongue's frenulum. When I noticed them two days ago the area of the salivary duct openings also felt quite strange, dehydrated and textured a bit like a cat's tongue. They are asymmetrical and lie around the middle of the frenulum. They appear as extensions of the frenulum, looking the same except at the end they have white tips like whiteheads. They've also appeared like very tiny cysts, yesterday. I noticed the roughness of the salivary gland openings literally an hour after I had performed oral sex on a woman. At the time I thought the two incidents were unlikely to be connected. They are still here and I've never noticed them before I believe. Sound like anything you know of?

Hi there,

Thanks for writing your query,

Your clinical symptoms are suggestive of oral candidiasis also know as oral thrush. It is a fungal infection caused by a yeast called candida albicans which is commonly found on skin surfaces.
Possible causes for repeated infections can be Prolonged use of antibiotics or corticosteroids .
xerostomia or impaired salivation can also lead to oral thrush.
i would suggest you to go for symptomatic treatment at home .
avoid alcohol , carbonated drinks , tobacco chewing and smoking as these may worsen the area affected.
Apply oral antiseptic ,analgesic ointments like dentogel or mucogel topically over the affected area.
Maintain good oral hygiene and drink lots of water and keep yourself hydrated.

i hope this helps ,

take care.
