What Do Persistent Cough And Lump Behind The Ear Suggest?
My daughter is a 20 year old former meth addict who smokes both tobacco and marijuana. For the last several months, she has had a persistent cough, a lump behind her left ear, and now lumps on her breasts. She told me she felt like she was having a heart attack this morning...also has virtually no appetite and is always tired. She is going to see a doctor FINALLY this afternoon...what might these symptoms indicate?
Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have symptoms of persistent cough and lump behind the ear which is due to leftover infection in your body and smoking is exaggerating her symptoms. Need not to worry. You should avoid hot, sharp and spicy foods. For now do warm saline rinses , take rest. I would suggest you to start with course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. Apply warm compresses behind ear. You should take mast cell stabilizers to prevent from infection. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist without any delay . Doctor may order blood test , throat swab test or virus culture test. You should get an x ray of the chest. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxicillin at least for 10 days along with mucolytic agents. Go for complete blood count. Hope your concern has been resolved.
