What Could The Unexplained Dark, Raised Bruise On Inner Arm Be?
Hello Doctor, For the past 2 months I ve been noticing a bruise on my inner left arm. It comes and goes every week or so, in the exact same spot and size. It is dark, slightly raised and sore. Could this be a symptom of some type of medical condition or am I likely hitting the same spot on something without noticing? FYI I don t take any medications and haven t had any significant lifestyle changes lately, but I do chew nicotine gum. Any information you could provide would be appeciated. Thank you, Alana

Hi.
As per your case history you are having urticarial rash.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral steroid like prednisone or betamethasone taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
