What Could Poor Inspiratory Volume Indicate?

I was just wondering what on my 2 yr olds xray. there is poor inspiratory volume resulting in crowding of the central bronchovascular markings. What does this mean?? Shes has history or Retrophargeal cellulitus which she was hospitalized for a yr ago and has reoccurant croup about every 2-3 months since then.

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hi.... by what you got I feel that your kid might be having and upper airway resistance syndrome otherwise and upper Airway blockade for free movement of air through it.

Low inspiratory volume on chest X-ray of the lungs means that the kid is not able to generate sufficient pressure to suck in sufficient volume of air into the lungs.

If the kid is snoring or has got an inspiratory stridor - this is again suggestive of the above mentioned condition.

The kid will required evaluation by experience and paediatric ENT surgeon or a pulmonologist.
