What Could Periods Irregularity Be With Heavy Bleed And Clot While On Tirosint ?
Hi recently I switched to tirosint because I was allergic to the synthroid levothyroxine that I was taking, for it had gluten in it. I did not have my period for 2 months and now have had it for over a month. It was really light at first then the last 2 weeks it has been extremely heavy with blood clotting. I have been having unexplained headaches all the time this last week and wa s not able to sleep last night due to being extremely thirsty. Im not sure what is wrong, can you help me?
I am so sorry to hear about this menstrual irregularity. Menstrual problems is actually one of the manifestation of thyroid problem. i will suggest that your levels be monitored to make sure you are well treated for the hypothyroidism. If everything is okay, then an OBGYN should be brought on board to make sure nothing is wrong with the uterus and genital tract.
I hope you find this helpful. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for clarifications and more information if need be. Thanks. Dr. Ditah, MD.
