Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist, Dr. Omair's Response
Hello,
These symptoms points towards an acute ear infection (Acute otitis media). I will suggest to immediately start using Tab Tylenol 2 tabs twice a day, Tab Claritin once a day, Sinux Nasal spray 2 puffs in each nostril twice a day, steam inhalation with some Vicks in it. Antibiotics can be started if you develop fever and for that you need to consult your local doctor.
There can be a pus discharge from an affected ear which should not scare you since there will be relief of pain. Just make sure that you are avoiding the entry of water in the ear and keep your ear dry for 2 weeks. You can continue the above mentioned treatment for 7 days and it will be very helpful. If symptoms persist or worsen then consult your local ENT doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Omair Choudhry, Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist
