What Could Cause Sudden Onset Of Heavy Anal/rectal Bleeding?

I am a male, 19 years old. I was sitting in the car when out of no where my behind felt wet. When I arrived home I checked my pants and it was blood. I then wiped my anus and discovered more blood. Much like that of a period. What does this mean? I also am experiencing a sharp, throbbing pain in my rectum.

HI...
welcome to HCM.
Sudden onset bleeding from rectum most commonly results from haemorrhoids. Other causes include anal fissure, rectal polyps, rectal ulcers
The most important thing in your case is identifying the source of bleeding, so I would recommend,
1.Get a proctoscopy done with help of surgeon
2.If normal get a colonoscopy.
3.Get basic blood tests like HB and coagulation profile.
These measures would definitely reveal the source of bleeding.
