What Could Cause A Lower Back Pain Accompanied By A Tender Back?

Hi I am having some lower back pain in the kidney area. My back is tender to touch. Wasn t sure if it was a kidney infection or not. I have had the pain about a week now. I also have Fibromyalgia and thought maybe that was the cause of my pain. Thanks in advance Marie

Hello

Low back ache may be due to many reasons like genito-urinary causes, musculoskeletal reasons etc.
You need proper clinical examination and routine investigations.
Investigations include routine hemogram,random blood sugar,liver function test,renal function test,urine RE/ME,ultrasound of abdomen,X-ray L/S spine (AP/Lateral view),Thyroid profile.
It may also be due to low calcium level or muscle spasm.
MRI of L/S spine can be done after evaluation.
Proper treatment depend upon findings.

Get well soon.
