What Could Be The Reason For Experiencing Intermittent Groin?
For the last few years I have experienced intermittent groin pain. It almost seems nerve like as at times it can exacerbate to sciatica. All will be well, then ouyt of the blue a dtabbing spasm in the right groin occurs, to the point where i nearly stumble. It pulls me up short and abruptly. After initial onset, it will then remain for a few weeks but be intermittent in occurrance and intensity. Then disappear again
This is just to inform you that there are numerous causes and conditions that produce groin pain. The most common cause of groin pain is muscle, tendon or ligament strain. Less commonly, a bone injury or fracture, a hernia or even kidney stones may cause groin pain.
A detailed direct clinical examination and appropriate investigations are needed to establish the correct diagnosis.
If your groin pain is caused by a strain or sprain, these self-care measures may help:
- Take an over-the-counter pain reliever such as ibuprofen (Advil) or acetaminophen (Tylenol). - Place an ice pack on the sore area for 20 to 30 minutes two to four times a day. - Gentle massage of the painful area with a pain cream may provide swift pain relief.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
