What Could Be The Cause Of Rigors And Fever In A Pregnant Lady And Should I Take Flu Shot?
When I go outside in the cold weather I come back and at night I get fever and my whole body start to shake . Like a rigor . I m pregnant and currently on antibiotic for upper respiratory infection . Should I see my obgyn or primary doc , also should I take the flu shot ? Why r rigors with fever happening often ? . Thanks

Fever with chills and rigor in pregnant female may be due to these possibilities , these include.
1 Upper respiratory infection , as you mentioned that you are already taking treatment for this . As strep throat in cold weather is most common cause of such type of fever , so once again consult your doctor and get his opinion . Throat swab examination will find out exact nature of bacteria responsible for fever.
2 Malaria may be the next reason of such symptoms , so get in blood examination for malarial slide .
3 Urinary tract infection is also responsible for such type of symptoms so get in urine examination , if necessary culture of urine .
Sometimes typhoid fever causes low grade fever with mild degree chills .
In my opinion consult a physician and get his opinion.
