What could be the cause of green phlegm after general anesthesia ?

is coughing up green phlegm after general anesthesia unusual?..had a failed surgery..they put me under but were unable to fix the problem in my throat because I have severe cervical arthritis and my head wouldn t tilt back far enough for the scope
