What Could Be Chances Of Getting Familial Cancer In A Pre Puberty Child With Down Syndrome?

My question is regarding a pre puberty girl with Down Syndrome. She is high functioning yet has trouble keeping herself clean. She has a first cousin (29 yo) who developed breast CA after taking birth control pill and now is in stage 4 cancer. What can I safely consider for my DS child?

Thanks for your question. Well brest cancer in immediate relatives like mother or real sister is more relevant. Also if their is any running genes like brca 1 or 2 in family then it can be relevant in first cousin to some extent.
As your baby is downs kindly monitor blood counts and platelets as blood cancer risk is more common in downs than anything else.
