What Could Be Causing The Stinging In A Child To The Side Of The Navel And Had Born With Hernia Near Her Navel?

Hello. My 5 year old daughter is complaining that her stomach is stinging about 2-3 inches to the side of her navel. She was born with a small hernia near her navel. Her Pediatrician has kept an eye on it, and they believe it to be gone from the way it feels. (They haven t done any x-rays or anything to actually see it.) I was just wondering what it could be causing her to say its stinging? She hasn t hit anything or fallen. She just began complaining a few days ago. Should I take her to the Pediatrician again?

Hi welcome to health care magic forum.
As your doctor said, the umblical hernia has receded clinically, but there could be some hernia of the omentum, left.
I advise you to consult a pediatric surgeon, or a general surgeon, for diagnosis, she may need to have an M.R.I. for confirmation.
Other causes may be the infection of the kidney, or ureter. If hernia is excluded, you can consult a pediatritian for diagnosis.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
