What Causes White/red Spots On Tonsils And Spots On Roof Of Mouth?

I have been fighting what I assumed was an upper respiratory infection for about 6 days now. About 2 days ago white and red spots started appearing on my tonsils, and today there was an outbreak of red spots on the roof of my mouth. Do I need to see a doctor in my area for a strep test?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your complain upper respiratory tract infection which is known as common cold in general terms is a viral infection, while the red and white spots over the tonsils seems to be due to secondary bacterial infection leading to formation of pus pockets over the tonsils while red spots over the roof of mouth also seems secondary to infection..
You can consult an ENT expert and get evaluated and can get a rapid strep test done to rule out for bacterial infection..
If bacterial infection is ruled out take a short course of antibiotics like Levofloxacin, do warm saline gargles, steam inhalations and avoid picy and hard foods..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
