What Causes Weight Gain And Painful Period After Tubal Ligation?
Hi, 12 years ago I had a tubal ligation after having 5 children. Since the procedure I have had steady weight gain. Before the procedure I have never had a weight issue before. I work out 7 times a week - walking and running every morning for 30 - 45 minutes as well as weight sessions 2 times a week to try to keep the weight off. I eat sensibly and dont eat junk. Since the procedure also I ahve had very painful periods which cause shooting pains down my legs for the first 24 hours. I have in the past 12 months started to have crying bouts for no reason and also am always tired, not like I used to be at all. I wonder if perhaps my thyroid has been affected by the tubal ligation ? do you think I should see a doctor? I am 37 years old.
Thyroid disorders are common in this age group, please do your thyroid profile and also sugar test done, but also USG of whole abdomen is required to rule out other causes of pelvic pain.
