What causes variations in the blood pressure?

I m taking 125 mg of Toprol xl and 2.5 mg of Zestril and have been for years. In the past few weeks my blood pressure has been going up and down sometimes very high 150/82 can stress be causing this or is the medication not working anymore

you may need a dose revival,increase in dosage of your anti hypertensive drugs.Restrict your daily salt intake.consult your doctor for expert management.thankyou
