Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My wife is 51 she is going thru menapause she was taking estradiol and progesterone. She stopped taking those 2 meds. And her Dr. put her on TL Gard Rx (a vitamin) she ran out and couldn t get a new supply for about 10 days. She has started bleeding. We got the TL Gard Rx filled about 5 days ago and the bleeding is better but still like a constant period. Could this bleeding be due to the meds or the missing the meds?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Menopause is known to have irregular bleeding, which subsides gradually. TL Gard Rx is a combination of B complex vitamins. The progesterone and estradiol pills she had taken are known to cause withdrawal bleeding after stopping the pills. Your wife seems to have that. Please consult the treating gynecologist for further line of advice.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale
