What Causes Tight Sensation In The Chest And Palpitations?

So, this is for my wife. her time of the months are off. she has them more frequently. As for weight gain, part of it is she has had 2 C-Sections, and when she exerts herself, she has tightness in the chest and her heartbeats usually are pretty fast. Every test she takes says she s ok and she had seen a nutriotonalist and they said it was her thyroid. The last Thyroid test she had done showed it was normal.

Chest tightness along with palpitations can have some specific causes and it demands doing certain investigations to know the cause before any medications are started.
If I were your treating doctor,I recommend-
-Blood pressure measurement,advice ECG,stress tests,serum thyroid tests,blood glucose,blood lipids
- Certain medications like metoprolol are started for controlling heart rate
-Control stress and anxiety by yoga,meditation,mind relaxation techniques,listening to soothing music,engaging in some hobby.
-Balanced diet,avoiding exposure to second hand and primary smoke,avoiding excess intake of caffeine.
-Keep weight within control by regular exercising(after ruling out certain heart conditions)
