What Causes Thickening Of The Stomach Wall With Fluid In It?

My dad has Crohn s Disease and early signs of non-alcoholic cirrhosis. He just got a CT scan and was told he has fluid around his stomach as well as thickening of the stomach wall and thickening of the small intestine wall. He has a gastero-ocposy on Monday to go down his throat to check things out. We are wondering what this could mean, what could be the cause and what is the treatment. My dad is here with me. Thank you so much for your opinion. It is much appreciated.

Hello,

The possibility of helicobacter pylori infection or lymphocytic infiltration or malignancy or ulcer disease or amyloidosis may present like this.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

May need an endoscopic biopsy of the mucosa.

Please consult your gastroenterologist/ oncologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
