What Causes The Taste Of Blood In The Mouth With Throbbing Pain In The Temple?

I have suddenly noticed a taste of blood in my mouth and now am having stabbing pain in the right side of my head/temple area. I m a little worried because once when I was younger I had the same thing and then developed numbness on one side of my body with vision impairment along with not being able to understand the words that people were saying to me. I was told later that I may have had a mini-stroke. I am 40 years old and have been having a lot of stress lately. I don t want to suddenly have a stroke like my great-grandmother.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You should get your examination done. ESR and Fundoscopy of your affected eye. Blurring of vision is warning sign that may be caused by Giant Cell Arteritis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rana Ahsan Javed
