Hello, Two weeks ago i began to experience tender and swolling breats, tingly and swollen nippples with veins appearing that i have never had before I have also been feeling extremelu depressed and moody Two days ago i got a dark brown discharge which the day after was followed by a very heavy period that today seems to be already going or becoming a lot lighter. I also havent experienced any cramps which is very unlike my usual periods that also last about five days My breasts arent tender but my nipples are still very sensitive and tingly and enlarged Is this just a change in menstrual flow? Could i be pregnant even though i have had a period? Or is it a lot of hormones?
Hello, Your symptoms suggest the effect of progesterone subsequent to the ovulation. The tender breasts with increased vascularity are indicative of the fact that water logging occurs prior to the onset of menstruation. It is also likely that your menstrual pattern could be changing and excess estrogen can induce thicker endometrium leading to heavy flow. Pregnancy is most likely. Yet, if you wish to exclude, you can go for the blood pregnancy test. Please maintain a healthy weight, healthy diet and regular exercise. If this pattern persists, please get a complete evaluation by an expert. Take care.
