What Causes Swollen Tonsils And Lymph Nodes Along With Hard Bone At Back Of Throat?

I ve had swollen tonsils and lymph nodes for about five weeks. There is also a hard bone-like lump at the back of my throat. I have not had a fever and my throat does not hurt at all. I ve taken two different antibiotics and something else I think it was called edahist? Edahistamine? And a naval spray also as well as washing out with hydrogen peroxide periodically. The only difference taking medicine has made is that my tonsils arent covered in white stuff anymore. Any idea what this is? How to get rid of it?

Hi,

It is possible that the symptoms you are experiencing could be due to an infection, such as tonsillitis or throat infection, which can cause the tonsils and lymph nodes to become swollen. The hard bone-like lump at the back of your throat could be a tonsil stone.

If your symptoms persist despite taking antibiotics and other medications, it would be best to see a healthcare provider for a proper evaluation and diagnosis. They may perform a physical examination and additional tests such as a culture or imaging studies to determine the cause of your symptoms and recommend the appropriate treatment.

It's also essential to maintain good oral hygiene, stay hydrated, and avoid smoking or exposure to second-hand smoke, as these factors can irritate the throat and worsen symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi,

Few tests are indicated. These are throat culture and ASO titers and imaging studies can also be required depending upon spread. Till test results come tab amoxicillin 500 mg 12 hourly for 10 days (take fluids more).

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
