What Causes Swollen Taste Buds?

Hello,
My 16 y/o otherwise healthy and very active daughter showed me her tongue and indicated that feels as though her taste buds are swollen, it does appear so, as well as her tongue seems unusually red, as though she had been drinking kool-aid but she was not. Can you comment?

Hi, what u said is the commenest cause of swollen taste buds as a result of dinking this kool aids leading to inflammation of tongue, other causes like oral infection, thrush, allergy, trauma, cuts, burns or vitamin deficiency.
No need to worry it will subside by itself by curtailing of that food or drink.
