Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had my 2 year old at the doctors on monday. his eyes were all red swollen and waterery discharge. the said it was allergies and put him on claritin and singular he also has asthma. yesterday i recieved a phone call from his day care that he was running a 102 temp. i called the doctors they said then that it was a viral infection. today he has a rash on the back of his neck, chest and whole face. what is goin on with him? i then went to see a dr today and was diagnosed with conjunctivitis of the left eye with very large amounts of thick green discharge. i am no to also breaking out with a rash on my face now.
This suggests a systemic infection (fever, rash eye discharge), usually most are viral and need only supportive measures. But, as there is thick green discharge, this can be bacterial also, needing antibiotics, so kindly review with your doctor. Until then you gave give him Acetaminophen to control fever.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
