What Causes Swollen Neck While Having Tmj?

Hi - I am 46 yo female with high BP 150-170s/100-110, have TMJ but the recent symptom does not appear to me to be related as I and am slightly swollen on the L side of my neck; feels as if something is logged inside and swollen inside - tender to the touch - affecting my voice slightly - no tonsils or adenoids

Thanks for your query, i have gone through your query.
the swelling could be because of the enlarged lymphnodes or it can be inflammation of the salivary glands or stone in the salivary glands. consult a oral physician and get radiographs done like occlusal radiograph and sialography to rule out any stone. You can also get an ultrasound done to rule out any soft tissue lesions like tumors of the salivary gland. i hope my answer will help you take care.

hello thanks for the queiry,,swollen left side of the neck should be due to lymph node enlargement, or it could also be left submandibular gland enlargement,, either ways do salt water gargle thrice daily, do you have pain before having food, does saliva get pooled in floor of mouth,,kindly consult a oral physician for a check up and treatment,,hope it helps,,take care
