What Causes Swelling And Red Dot On The Forehead?

hi I was near the water about 4 days ago and got lots of mosquito bites around my legs. However, in the morning when I woke there was a large (1-1.5 inch) swelling with a red dot on my forehead...i saw a doctor two days ago who gave me antibiotics and cream for the rash. today the swelling has moved down my forehead, below the red area, and has doubled in size to where nearly half of my forehead is slightly swollen. my lymph nodes are also swollen around my ears...and today the doctor thought it may be caused by herpes and gave me herpes medicine (starts with cy...) My concern is the swelling...is it normal for it go down below the original bump/redness? I read that some herpes can cause blindness...should I be worried if it keeps moving down?
